Shaving Restraint 2026 (& other goals)

I haven't committed not to buy anything this year but so far no purchases. Going through my stash of soaps and splashes really good. So far three soaps are gone.

3 soaps in 3 months? That's superb work!

I've not bought anything this year, but my main goal this year is to shave on a regular basis. Last year I'd occasionally go 2 weeks or so, and I grew a beard at one point too and wasn't really enjoying this hobby that much.

This year I've been trying to get in at least 20 shaves per month, which I've managed to do so far. I definitely feel better for myself and enjoy shaving more if I do it on a regular basis.

Bought something on March 31st (the last day of Q1) and have no real 'shopping list' left now, so will aim to refrain from purchasing anything during Q2

Have 10 or 15 things I want to maybe put up for sale

@donnie_arko @ligonnema shaving daily and shaving my head every three days. Artisan soaps, two grooming cult Orion and one Declaration grooming milk steak. Orion was going quick as it's rather soft base. DG seamed to go slower but that base is something I like to load heavily. I'm now on already pretty used Wickham and my estimate is that it was at about 60 percent when I started using it last week. My previous experience with Wickham is that it would take at least a month to finish it.

Technically I have failed as I aimed not to buy any soaps or creams this year again,
other than replacing an essential item if I got through it.

However I picked up these products from a local supermarket,
on a recent trip to Cyprus.

I really couldn’t resist the cream when reading the ingredients list and finding that it contains lanolin.
I’ve used it a couple of times and it is a really excellent product.
Slick, glossy lather with a nice citrus/lemon scent, not too dissimilar to Trumper’s Lime.
Highly recommended, if you’re ever in those parts.

The aftershaves are Fougere & Lavender and nice enough.

Great value products at just over €6 all in.

Well, 105th day of the year and I've just made my first shaving-related purchase of 2026, a bottle of Hattric Classic. 100ml for £4.67 after delivery (Temu). I've never tried this one before but tend to make my own aftershaves and EDTS and have too many to get through. The price and a few personal milestones this month mean I thought I would indulge in a cautious, modest treat.
Hope I don't regret it.

I bought some of it last year, nice old school splash. I think you might like it.

Just saw this thread. Not sure how I missed it. I'm in. Not made any purchases yet. I will likely need to purchase a shave stick for travel as my Palmolive shave stick is just about ready to give up the ghost.

Do you have something in mind? If you are placing an order from Amazon and need to add something to your basket for free postage, a stick of Arko can make sense.

I am genuinely considering giving this a whirl after my birthday to see just how long I can manage but I fear it may not be long. I think even a month of abstinence would be outstanding. Might make that a mini target
