Shaving Mirrors

I have always had shaving mirrors in the household for as long as I can remember.
Do you actually use the magnified surface? It doesn't make much difference to me, is it a god send for you?

I find that the magnified surface of little use, because you have to get too close to it for it to work. It's okay for close inspection if you think you've missed a bit, but I can tell that by touch. Plane surface for me.

I prefer good lighting and a large mirror which lets me see my entire face. If I need to see things closer, I simply move closer to the mirror. I do have a shaving mirror but I don't rate it at all.

My sink is in front of a window, so to shave with I use a mirror on a small stand that doesn't really do the job as it's a bit too low. What I do fancy is one of these:

This is nuts but I'm considering asking my wife for one as a birthday present!

This is the type I have, next to a large plain mirror. I very seldom use it, but it does look the part; if memory serves it came from Argos and cost less than a fiver. Pig Cat: you may not have seen this:

Yeah, £55 seems like a bit much for a mirror. Not bad for a brush though

You can pick up one of those extending mirrors in a cheap shop. The quality won't be as high but it'll look more or less the same. We have one in the shower room. I don't rate it that highly, but it's handy for use with a big mirror. Search and destroy, you know.

Thanks Arrowhead, this is certainly a lot more reasonable. There isn't an Ikea near here, but I have found these for sale on eBay for not a lot more. Unless I do something very naughty between now and October I can't see my wife buying me one of these. But you never know...

I may be near the third circle of Hell (aka Pikea) on Monday (not a Bank Holiday in Scotland, although the banks will be shut because the banks follow English holidays - but everyone else is at work anyway) if you want me to grab one and post it PC?

PM sent - what a gent!
