Re: Shave of the day w/c 31 October 2009

Thursday

Semogue 1470
Williams soap
Merkur HD
Gillette Super Thin D2
Alum
Thayers w/Aloe
Aqua Velva
444 ASB

The 1470 did a fine job with the Williams. This is the first time I have used Williams, the lather cushioning etc is good. The scent is like a mild citronella, not sure if I will come to like it.

Re: Shave of the day w/c 31 October 2009

Thursday

Futur
Super Thin
Kent/MWF
Custom Badger
Superdrug Forest Fresh

Had my wisdom teeth out on monday and my face is really swollen and sore but I couldn't stand the stubble any more. Haven't had that much stubble for a while so the futur struggled on my chin until I opened it up a bit :D Took it slow and steady, may not have been my best shave as I couldn't pull the usual faces to stretch my skin at all but it beats feeling like David Bellamy's hairier cousin.

Impressed with the Forest Fresh, picked it up last time I was in town as I recalled it got a couple of mentions. At £2.40 a bottle you can't go wrong :D

Need to experiment more with the Rotty - Had my first cuts for ages - needed the Proraso styptic Gel out

Thursday

1912 patern Ever-Ready

Semogue 2000 ( Still not sure about this Brush )
Connought Lime cream

Excellent shave from razor point of view, Brush is not as good as a badger, wouldn't use connought lime again

Friday:
Wilkinson 'Sticky' / Personna
Simpson Duke 2 (Pure)
Boots shaving soap
Boots Freshwood AS

Figured out how to use the Duke, and to think I was going to sell it. The Sticky can stay for a bit too as can the Boots soap which was ready for the bin earlier in the week.

Re: Shave of the day w/c 31 October 2009

Well done Andy. I started with Derby Extra - not sharp enough for me. Red Personnna have been much better. Gillette Super Thins as well.

Had a great shave with my new Jagger today. It's back to joint leader with my Red 38C Merkur. And my Kent BK8 is performing like a star, today in full flow with Art of Shaving unscented cream. Real luxury feel. Still purring.

Might slip up for a dabble with my straight tonight.

Spent the day with my Guilford branch - grandson 3 today. Gave son in law a lecture on DE shaving. Guess what he wants for Christmas! Enthusiasm can sometimes be infectious.
