SE Razor for a beginner

I swear this forum makes you want to buy things you hadn't even considered before!

Anyway, what would be a good SE Razor to start out with? I've only ever used cartridge and DE razors so have no experience at all SE types. I have been looking online and can find the same few options..... needless to say the one that (in my opinion) looks the nicest seems very hard to get (Colonial General black). So not really sure where to start??

You will surely do well with a 1912 model.

On the other hand, modern style AC blades, more to the likes of Colonial General, you have the Razorock Hawk (or Black Hawk). Inexpensive, but a great piece in my opinion.
 
I have both the Hawk V2 and ER1912. I've only used the Razorock once but was impressed with the shave. The 1912 is probably my all time favourite razor, it always provides me with a close, irritation free shave no matter what prep or soap I use. For a beginner it is excellent and if you buy wisely it won't cost a lot. I got mine for around £5 on ebay. I'm sure a few of the chaps on here may have one up for grabs. Mine's not going anywhere!
