Scent of The Day


Brut is awesome, as long as you don't tell people it's Brut. Most can't discern a difference between Cool Water, Green Irish Tweed and Aspen. All they detect is the Dihydromyrcenol and not much else. Everything with pineapple top note (Allyl Amyl Glycolate) is detected as Aventus. "Synthetic drydown" are the two words you will never hear in real everyday life, just read on enthusiasts forums.

What people do detect extremely well is your mood and attitude. Wearing a favorite watch, frag, jeans etc. boosts your confidence and mojo, and if Brut does it for you, it's the right thing to wear.

P.S. "You smell old, like my dad/uncle" IME is never bad feedback coming from a female. I prefer it over "you smell fruity" or "it's nice, I'd wear it".

I like Brut, its timeless but have to agree with the girls, Cool Water / GIT is an old man smell to my nose... Its aged really poorly IMO.

Cool Water...Really?! In the sales reps' shoes, I would have offered YSL Opium EdT as an 'off the shelf', designer, 'older gentleman' type fragrance. It's actually not too shabby at all!
Armani Code A-List is also pretty round and 'classy' smelling. I can't speak of performance as I've not owned it, but testing it in shops gave me a good surprise.
 

Absolutely. It is interesting how sometimes - when we are a little sad, for example - when we put on a clothes and a perfume that pleases us, we feel better.

As for girls, their nose is a good compass too: D

Good
Charlie is a perfume that despite being described as feminine, sounds more masculine to me. I like the smell of it. Another perfume, described as feminine is the Solara, from Lomani. A little of it, with Brut = Pinaud Clubman
I have noticed that there are lots of perfumes described as feminine, that when used by us, they have a different scent and attract the attention of the girls. It may be the "chemistry" different between the male and female skin.
