A good job you've done there, lovely looking scales.View attachment 55232
Made a set of scales in Karelian birch. A bit on the thick side at 3.3mm but I have had burl wood break when trying to go thin like 2.8mm so safety first this time. Will use a linseed oil finish so end result will take on a yellowish tint. A sidenote: after plenty of sanding and eyeballing finding scales looking ok I weighed them, one was 4,11gram and the other 4,10, close enough for me

So far so good but I have not had much luck with full sized wood wedges before so going for a 4mm brass tube wedge this time fingers crossed
