With compliments to Chris @Boycie83 for my fortunate gain of the Dark Matter soap. The scent was right down my street. And the performance is just what I expect from @James Riley .
The 'C' plate on the printed adjustable was definitely more aggressive than the 'A' plate and gave me a superb, smooth result.

SOTD 1st
Razor - Rockwell 6c- R4 & R3
Brush - Yaqi Sagrada Familia
Soap - A&E SoCal Hipster
Blade - Astra SP#3
Post - Boots Freshwood ASL and B

Truly stunning shave. Blade and razor are perfect partners, the Kaizen base soap gives a beautiful slick and smooth lather. The scent was a bit of a gamble for me given the scent note list, but it works and I prefer the scent as it lather as opposed to in the tub. Very nicely finished with Boots Freshwood
A great first shave of 2021.

*I've used this brush a few times but never been pleased by it. Using the Proraso brush as a yardstick its well behind at twice the price.

*This razor never fails to impress me considering its price. It's up there with the Cobra and uses cheap blades.

My tap water arrives from a borehole and I've often wondered if its slightly hard lime infused qualities affect the lather. I keep a gallon of fresh from a nearby spring and for interests sake used it for lathering. Excellent results and finished up with the wedding cake impersonation so beloved of Johan on the Shave and Butcher channel.

Silver Star Super Stainless (2)
RazoRock Plague Doctor splash

A smashin' shave to start off 2021. A huge thank you to @pjgh for reminding me that I had a spare Silver Star blade lurking in my blade drawer (can't remember when/where I got it). It really is a good blade. I used it yesterday on an R4 setting with my Rockwell 6C and today with the smooth (or ‘mild', if you choose) MÜHLE. I reckon this one is essentially the R89 head in new drag. Regardless, a bloody good shave was the result.

I notice these blades are also ball-breakingly cheap: £7-8 for 200.
