The ER 1912- Revisited
After a great Shave I continued my rediscovery of the ER 1912 and chose to use the British Peerless set. With an excellent lather I started the Shave with the blade shimmed , but after two short strokes decided it felt too smooth with no blade feel.
Having discarded the shim I continued the Shave. which was still very smooth but what was
noticeable was the fact that it was also very quiet, compared to the usual rasping sound typically associated with a 1912. The Shave was completed very easily and I am not exaggerating when I say it was one of my Best ever SE shaves, and that includes those I have had with some modern SE Razors using the AC blade.
I now know why Paul @pjgh rates the 1912 so highly, just persevere and find one that works for you [ they are quite cheap ]. I cannot imagine how any of the New S/S Gem Razors can provide a better shave than the one I had today.
