Saturday

Morning, all.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJ DE89
Blade: Green Gillette 7 o' clock (8)
Brush: Kabuki Bamboo
Shave soap: Wickham's Spice Trade
Aftershave: Indian Old Spice
Cologne: L'Air du Desert Marocain

Since the Gillette blade shows no sign flagging, I thought I'd keep using it for a bit. Good, close shave.

RE: S.O.T.D/ Saturday 31st January to Friday 6th February 2015

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Murdock Avalon pre-shave oil
Soap: Trumper's Eucris cream
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Brush: L'Occitane synthetic
Razor: ATT S1 Kronos
Blade: Sputnik (1)
After: Floid Black AS, C&E Sandalwood ASB, Trumper's Eucris cologne

Second use of the ATT Slant and getting used to it a little more. I'm getting BBS everywhere except round my chin so I must be doing something wrong there. I reckon the S1 plate takes more practice than the R plates. This Slant is a really smooth razor but also delivers a very close shave so for me it would be perfectly suitable for an everyday shave whereas I feel the Merkur 37c slant tends to be a little harsh for prolonged use.

Today will be spent cheek faceterbating and chin scratching. You enjoy yours in whatever way you feel.

I think it's damned aggressive but used carefully can give a really smooth and enjoyable shave. It's also musical. It's one of my keepers. In fact with a heavy handle (from templ8) it handles better and is easier to use. Sputnik's a good choice for it.

Vitos Extra Super
Omega boar
Wilkinson Sword Classic
Personna Chrome Platinum
Davidoff Coolwater aftershave
Nivea Coolkick ASB
Davidoff Coolwater EDT

Got a really good shave from the Wilkinson Sword Classic this morning. I've not used it in over 6 months as it always left me sore and irritated. Looks like a bit more experience has made all the difference! Have a good weekend everybody.

Third use of the Feather Super and it has become a highly effective and comfortable blade. These blades don't fit in my cobra, but I suspect they'd be too aggressive if they did as I find the Mongoose notably milder than my Cobra. First use of the CRSW Paradise and I'm slightly underwhelmed by the scent of it; coconut and vanilla are two of my favourite scents but I can't pick up either despite them being part of the description. Performance, however, is the usual Premier league standard. I was brave enough to go ATG on the last pass and I'm rewarded with a wonderful shave.

RE: S.O.T.D/ Saturday 31st January to Friday 6th February 2015

That's good to hear since I'm not a fan of coconut, and I've held off buying my own CRSW Paradise for that reason. If it doesn't work for you, I'll swap you something.

RE: S.O.T.D/ Saturday 31st January to Friday 6th February 2015

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

1964 rebranded Macys silvertip flopmeister fine for creams
'Webly'/Feather
vintage Coates rose cream
Neutrogena oil-free moisture sensitive skin (very nice for cold weather)
Givenchy 'Xeryus' EdT ( vintage black bottle)

Second shave inna row with the Feather and man, once again I am reminded this blade is perfect in the mild Webley. Can't feel it on my face but still whacking whiskers like crazy. Zero resistance, which is always fun. We have a BINGO!

The Coates is a good cream with a pleasant non sweet rose scent. Easy to lather and nice having in the arsenal.

BBS results, with not even a hint of red in the lather,

Martin
