Wednesday
I perhaps should have resisted shaving but I went for it anyway. Cracked out the C.R.Salter cream which smells heavenly - Turkish Delight is a definite comparison.
The RR Hawk with a Feather Pro on it's 4th outing did a decent enough job for me. It didn't struggle, but I did get a little 'scrub-happy' in places so am a little tender (hence why I should have resisted). I'm a little hot in places but 99% smooth and, had I given my neck an extra day rest, I would have been very happy with the results.
I can't get over how good this little Hawk is for the money...
I've found it very slick in the couple of times I've used it. It states on their 'instructions' that you should apparently use remaining lather to wash the face with afterwards, post-shave. I'll use it again next time after a couple days rest and report back. From what I can gather, however, it's pretty well received. Not a lot makes a lot of lather.Hi Ben,
I came across the Cyril R Slater cream while looking for creams this morning.
I love the smell of Turkish Delight too!
Does it have much slickness?
Thanks Chris.
I'll be trying a Schick Proline next, which I love in the Colonial General SE. @patw has also recommended the Kai Pink's too. I believe I may have already tried them in The General. Another forum member sent me a selection of blades. If it's the one I think it is I did rate the ‘pink'. I'll have to double check though.

Four days growth, first shave with the Fatip metal black( that's what it says on the box), gillette silver blue(#3), proraso green soap, semogue 1305 brush, alum block( for obvious reasons), cold water & thayers unscented rinse, proraso green a.s balm.
In retrospect, I should've loaded a fresh blade for my first shave with this razor but heyho, no harm done.

Rob @Blackmass , you're right. This is one sweet razor. I'd easily put it up there with the S2, far smoother than the R41 but just as effective.
Sure, the finish isn't fantastic but it's not bad. If anyone is thinking about giving an OC a go, you won't be dissapointed with this little beaut....
Ha ha, very funny. Let me know how you get on with the SE2...See what happens when you listen to me.Only joking.
Glad it didn't disappoint champ.
