I came across the Cyril R Slater cream while looking for creams this morning.
I love the smell of Turkish Delight too!
Does it have much slickness?

I've found it very slick in the couple of times I've used it. It states on their 'instructions' that you should apparently use remaining lather to wash the face with afterwards, post-shave. I'll use it again next time after a couple days rest and report back. From what I can gather, however, it's pretty well received. Not a lot makes a lot of lather.

I have checked and it is the 'Pink' blade I've used. Good blade. Mild yes, but smooth enough you can buff without causing irritation.

First shave back home in Oz. Four day heavy growth. I recalled a video where a guy used a AS-D2 for the first time with a similar growth and was surprised at how effectively it mowed down his whiskers, so thought I would also try this. Again, the combination of a mild razor with a sharp blade proved very efficient. Three passes for a DFS+.
I seem to have finally worked out the Mystic Water lathering. A very patient build, with small, regular water additions, yields a very nice lather with superlative residual slickness. The Irish Traveller fragrance is very similar to Stirling Sharp Dressed Man.
What a pleasurable shave!

Wednesday evening shave with a new soap.

Two-ish days' growth and tried a cool shave

Preparation – face washed with Clique Liquid facial soap (mild)

Pre: Edwin Jagger Hydrating Pre-Shave (sample)
Soap: Wickhams Classic 24 (thanks to @Chinski)
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Feather (5th use)
Brush:Molten Brown Shaving Brush

Post Shave: Cold water rinse, Alum then a shower followed by Proraso post shave cream (white)

What an awesome shave. The Wickham Classic 24 (thanks again @Chinski) has such a great scent and the lather is so silky, though I found there was very little residual slickness when I re-wet my face. That aside, I had three passes, minor touch up and no irritation – BBS.

Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphrey's Witch Hazel
AS: L'Oreal Birch Sap balm

I have been using my new Rockwell 6C for the previous four shaves, the last of which I thought I should try one of the Rockwell blades. I was not overly impressed, not a bad blade but not one I am adding to my favourite list, I have used worse. Today I thought I would give the Rockwell blade a go in my trusty Fatip Piccolo, which can sometimes bring out the best in a blade for me. Not in this case, the results were pretty lacklustre and I would say the result with the Fatip was worse than the Rockwell on plate four. The Rockwell managed to shave closer.

On the positive side, the Proraso blue was excellent and I tried some L'Oreal Birch Sap aftershave balm, which I really liked.
 

Four days growth, first shave with the Fatip metal black( that's what it says on the box), gillette silver blue(#3), proraso green soap, semogue 1305 brush, alum block, cold water & thayers unscented rinse, proraso green a.s balm.
In retrospect, I should've loaded a fresh blade for my first shave with this razor but heyho, no harm done.


Rob @Blackmass , you're right. This is one sweet razor. I'd easily put it up there with the S2, far smoother than the R41 but just as effective.
Sure, the finish isn't fantastic but it's not bad. If anyone is thinking about giving an OC a go, you won't be dissapointed with this little beaut....
