That is one big ass razor, nice.

Wednesday 27th July 2016

The one where "giving it another go" was a really good idea

Warm shower
1970s Gibbs Sport soap
Whipped Dog 30mm synthetic
Hone 15 razor
1960s Schick Krona super stainless (4)
BOOBS aftershave
Dakar EdT

I've read a few posts recently from chaps excited to use their new Hone razors. I was one of them about 5 months ago but found my Hone very easy to use and forgiving but very, very mild.

This Schick blade I've been using is very sharp indeed and managed to make my first go with the Krona razor very confusing - this razor was meant to be ultra mild, but with this blade it's quite bitey.

To cut this story short, the Schick pairs beautifully with the Hone. A really gentle but perfectly clean shave. I did do 2 and a half ATG but the Hone is incredibly forgiving. A good shave - again.

SOTD - Wednesday
Soap: Wickham Soap Co. 1912 "Russian Leather"
Brush: Brad Sears custom mesquite 26/50mm 3-band Manchurian bulb
Razor: Timeless OC
Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock black (2)
Post: Thayer's witch hazel followed by Wickham Soap Co. 1912 "Russian Leather" ASL
Simply amazing lather. This Wickham's '1912' hard-soap formula is dynamite! Thick, slick, stable lather.

Wed 27th July
Omega 11137 boar
Arran Aromatics- Bay citrus
Schick J3 Golden 500
Schick " Chick " [ 8 ]
Alum Rub & Rinse
Jaguar Prestige A/S Lotion.

Brought as part of a job lot when I decided to try Injectors , the Golden 500 is a winner. Of all the modern Schicks that I have tried [ G on ] , this for me is the best one when fitted with a single blade. I managed to get a first class all-round shave , as the razor is very good when making ATG passes.

Fab pic, as always.

Loving that razor, how are you finding it?
