Could anyone recommend a good user-friendly resource for learning about rum? Any forums or website suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm keen to learn more about the drink and have no idea where to start.
I had a bottle of the Crossbones recently. A nice dark rum, with a rich toffee aroma and taste. It's quite smooth, and of normal spirit strength, so can be sipped neat, but I prefer it over ice.Had anyone ever tried Aldi's rum? Their crossbones and sea dog rum sounds interesting.
Great question. I was looking at the Aldi website last night!Had anyone ever tried Aldi's rum? Their crossbones and sea dog rum sounds interesting.

The aroma was similar to Woods or Pussers, but it is a lot smoother on the palate than the Woods, and a little sweeter than Pussers. Would definitely buy again.
Any experience of the original Captain Morgan? There seems to be mixed reviews. But not sure if that's a rum snobbery thing.
They don't even call themselves rum now. Morgans has gone cheap with ingredients. It's very synthetic now.Lambs is niceIt's fine, personally I think Lamb's is better but there's nothing wrong with it.
