after a 12 year bout of being teetotal, ive started having a drink again and im quite enjoying it. i think ive developed a taste for rum, the choice of rum seems to be better than i remember when i used to drink. anyone got any suggestions for good rum? thank you

What you drinking it like? Straight or mixer.
Straight I go for diplomatico reserva or Ron zacapa 23.

Diplomatico Exclusiva Reserva, about Â£40 a bottle. Drink it neat as a digestif. Dark, complex and seductive. The rum market has really grown in the last decade or so, there is some excellent products easily accessible today.

ive been drinking it with ginger ale, but im quite open to drinking it straight.

Lamb's Navy Rum or if you want to step it up, Wood's. Both are good straight or with mixers. If mixing ginger beer (as opposed to ale) is very good as is the classic Coke. Wood's is my favourite.

Old J Spiced Rum, squeeze of lime a glug of lemonade and some ice.

brilliant summer drink. Like the old 'Sailor Jerry's' rum used to be before they changed the recipe.

If your making dark and stormys has to be goslings just don't pick up the over proof by mistake

looks like ginger beer is the way to go as far as a mixer is concerned, ill try that next and ditch the ginger ale. there looks some really nice rums about, looks like ill be investigating a few

Think it's sold as goslings 151 proof. So 75.5% alcohol, makes lovely cocktails but far too easy to end up quite drunk lol
