So an improvement then?!StephenShave said:Jodie Kidd has as much appeal as a presenter as a squashed banana - have you seen her in that channel 5 Classic Car show? Admittedly, she has great legs, but after 5 minutes, you get bored looking at them!Burgundy said:Good riddance. Guy is an amazing presenter, with a natural charm, anyone that saw his 'spitfire' restoration series, or his road trip of India will know that. But, he's a solo act, and all the better for it. As for Coogan, well, he fucked himself up as a presenter with that shit Alan Partridge - nuff said...

According to people who saw this all everybody involved were drunk and tired, that might explain why he stood their and received 30 minutes of abuse. Maybe it didn't really happen and it's all a plot by the BBC, kinda like killing the stig in order to make more money.Sezer74 said:Other thing keeps my mind quite busy; why that Irish chap didn't fight back?? why didn't he threw a punch back on J. Clarkson?? Yeah perhaps Clarkson is bigger and stronger but you got to stand up for your self, if someone keeps swearing at you, for sure they don't like you and probably its gonna get physical in a short time so prepare yourself. Yes he can be popular, famous and all that but wrong is always wrong and especially in front of many people, he should have threw a good punch back and then like a man either shake hands and make peace or split the road. If he done that Clarkson would learn the lesson.
I disagree on one point, even creating a steer by the public doesn't affect politicians. I'll give you a good example, in 2003 me and few friends marched in London against the fast approaching invasion to Iraq, there was over a million people in that demonstration, did the gov gave a flying f**k? Non what's so ever, 12 years later and there are over a million dead souls all over the region due to that miscalculated move.Dave-the-rave said:I've never understood all the controversy around Clarkson. If folks don't like him fair enough but ultimately what he's done wrong and the only thing he's done wrong, is punch a producer. That cost him his job and that's understandable.
All the past controversy though..I believe Clarkson had a hand in writing the script but the producers, editors and ultimately the BBC, censor/ endorse/approve every show/series before it's deemed fit for broadcast. Any objections regarding language, attitudes, racism etc should always have been directed at the BBC not Clarkson. The show isn't broadcast live. The BBC know what's going on air and have endorsed it.
The BBC have successfully managed to distance themselves from any responsibility by relying on the public to be stupid enough to buy into a product of the BBC's making. The product is Clarkson. He sells himself as an idiot, buffoon, whatever, and has the public either loving to hate him or hating to love him. Meanwhile the BBC, who are rightfully responsible for the shows content, take a back seat and make money.
They have been so successful in marketing their product a million people signed a petition trying to keep Clarkson in business even after he slapped a producer. I'd call that very clever considering nobody creates as big a stir when our leaders take us to war, or cut back on public spending.
Like our elected leader the bosses at the BBC must consider the public to be a right bunch of muppets for buying into the whole shebang. I agree.

Sorry, can't agree with you - May is by far the most intelligent of the three.
