RIP Lee 'scratch' Perry

Lee Perry, godfather of reggae, producer and performer has died aged 84.
An absolute genius, I got to see him live a number of years ago and feel privileged to have seen him, he was crazy as bat shit but has left a legacy that few will equal.

Sad news.
I saw him live on stage in a small club in Germany in the mid-eighties.
What a character he was.

No! Gutted. A legend. Never got to see him live. Can't believe he was 84, I suppose I think of him how he was on vinyl rather than real life, thereby younger.

I've never seen him live, but I've been listening to him for decades. An utter genius and total fruitcake. Nothing lasts forever, but it's a shame he's gone.

What a loss! To say he spanned everything from Bob Marley & the Wailers to The Beastie Boys to The Orb and worked full time until his last day is one hell of a legacy. A genuis that will most certainly be missed.
