Recommendations for a newish daily shaver…..

So many times threads like this get started and you never hear back from the OP so thank you for posting the update. Well done on your progress and it's only going to get better from here. You will then get to a point where you'll feel your acquired technique needs a challenge. The point various rabbit holes await..........

Great news!

If you're having trouble getting round the jawline try stretching the skin. This is an old straight razor trick: put your fingers on your cheek above the jaw and pull up. You can shave right around the jaw bone like this without actually having to get under the jaw bone.

Skin stretching might also help on the neck. If you throw your head up and back that's often enough. You can also put a finger either side of your Adam's apple and pull down gently.

A light touch, a nice slick soap (plenty water mixed in), and skin-stretching will help avoid any problems with irritation or nicks. Skin stretching flattens the skin a little and stops it moving while you shave so the blade has less chance of digging in.
