Would this happen with a stainless steel razor?
Not that rare with the EJ, more to do with the design than the construction materials. You don't see Merkur two pieces made of Zamac falling TO bits, but a quick search will show that EJ routinely replace top caps if you complain to them. Not with steel, bronze and aluminium, unless you got a dud (which is rare).
Contact Edwin Jagger. They replaced mine free of charge. Don't over tighten these type of razors. Just a nip is all that is requiredMy Edwin J razor has died! On unscrewing the handle, part of the thread was left in the handle, the other half still attached to the top plate. Is this common? Ah well, maybe time to splash out on a Feather for which I have a hankering from time to time,! Any thoughts about the problem just encountered?
