Agree a Gold Flair Tip (Rocket) is uncommon for sure, but more so if the plating is mostly intact. However, a gold Brit tech with the basketweave pattern handle is also uncommon if it's all brass, which I suspect because of the gold plating. Most with that basketweave style are aluminum. If it's not brass, then it's anodized which would also make it somewhat uncommon too. I have the same model in Nickel and all Brass (circa 1960's) and it quite hefty at 61.8 grams. Either way the gold model sure looks nice. BTW I also have a Brit Gold Flair tip w/case as depicted in your pic.This is what should be in that box.
The only thing that might be unusual about your razor is the gold plating. There are plenty of open comb Gillette Techs, some say Gillette on the cap some are Gillette Nacet branded with the alligator on the cap, there is another variation also, but the name eludes me at the moment.

Not the correct case but still a nice-looking razor. A gold tech with the basketweave style handle still somewhat uncommon. Because of the gold plating I suspect the razor is all brass, not the more common aluminum made. If you can weight it, you can tell if its brass. Should weigh in around 50 to 60 grams. If is not all brass, then its anodized which still makes it somewhat uncommon. I've never seen either in your style model.I have managed to get my hands on a rare (I think) Razor. I have found an eBay seller whose grandfather was a sales manager at Gillette in Isleworth years ago I have some nice photos and memorabilia from her and I managed to buy from her a gold razor with a 70s tech style handle and top plate and an open comb base plate. I just assume it was a one off gift or a possible prototype or a piece of fun ?? Here are some pics and the box it came in
