Got one yesterday from Father Ted, used it this morning: wow, great razor.
Like a 40's SuperSpeed only better (hard to say how - it seems both heavier and less aggressive, but not too mild; the TTO knob gives a good counter-balance pivot against the head, the knurling is lovely.)
Anyone else got one and use it?
Any thoughts on it?
BTW, I'd be interested to know what yours weigh. Mine seems very heavy but it's been replated (would that make much of a difference? I would't have thought so.)

I have one, but can't remember the last time it was used. Normally, superspeeds and me don't get along very well, but the Ranger seems to fit me well enough to actually enjoy using.
As you saw, the plating's the best by far of any other kinda 1940s type. The head shines almost like chrome, and the handle's brighter than usual too. Yeah, this first superspeed is a nice little razor. I'm guessing yours is the 1941 version with no caps (my favorite of the two versions).
I have a couple of them and on a whole I think they were better than the 1940 Super Speeds because the handle allowed more weight to balance toward the head which allows for a smooth shave. I also think the 1940 Super Speeds were better than the 1950s versions except for the Red Tip which was a different handle design.
Even the most thick and clumsy replating can mean the difference of about half a gramme at most Ollie, so no, the razor was pretty much that weight when it were a lad.
Had taken my Rangers out tonite and thought I'd take a few photos: '41 and '46. (R&L)[attachment=5479][attachment=5480][attachment=5481]
