Progress/34c

Could anyone tell me the equivalent setting on a Merkur Progress that would replicate the shave given by a 34c.

Thanks Kev,so I wouldn't be able to dial any lower for a less agressive shave.

For ultimate smoothness, leave the blade out. Course you will then have to finish the shave with a really mild razor. :shave

Hi Norman i found the 34c quite mild but the progress i had would dial down to 1/2 which was quite a bit milder again what i did find with the progress/mergress was the jump between numbers was quite a lot from mild to spud killer in 6 easy steps then lol you could turn it around even more!! :shock: :mrgreen:

mine set to 2.5 gives me a slant equivalent

I have a Mergress and enjoy most blades with it set at 3 for a 2 pass shave, with some blades (like a Feather) I will dial down to 2 or 1.5. I didn't feel the Pro/Mer-gress was that much more aggressive then the 34C but maybe this is down to the shorter handle or weight difference, maybe even just a personal preference.

I would have guessed 2 on a Progress was equivalent of the 34C but try a few shave with both and see how they compare.
