The nice thing about doing it yourself is that you get a good feeling of satisfaction, in addition, to not scratching the strap up as it's yours, & you'll take care of it - not like some random jeweler! Also, you now have the tools to help out friends/family when they get a new watch (I speak from experience...)
 

Absolutely, it is satisfying. Also you get the chance to wear it and make any further adjustments . The tools are an investment and it's nice to have them to hand.


It's the build and thickness of the case that I like on the Mini Monster, great quality especially at the price.
 
Montine Automatic today, AS 1913 movement with date quickset via a push of the crown.
Guess it's from the 70's.

A little history for you...
During the 70's the company Incabloc that provides shock protection for many brands of watches put a clause into the provision of the system that insisted that watch manufacturers had to put the word "Incabloc" on the dial like this Montine.

R olex, were having none of it and moved to the KIF shock protection and subsequently developed their own Paraflex system.

 
Have been in Leeds today and drooled over the Panerai display in the Victoria Quarter.

I look forward to the time when I can comfortably spend between 6 and 10K on a watch.
 
Looking at all these lovely watches, has given me an itch for an automatic.

Ever since I was a young man, I desired an Omega. But prices of these maybe beyond my budget. But some of the auto's shown here are really nice, I may have to take a trip over to Creation to see what they have for me to scratch with.

Funny you would mention that watch brand. Was doing some bizz today with a guy who has one......some kinda GMT version maybe? I see him 3-4 times a year and always offer to buy his Panerai. Not my favorite model, but it's a kinda schmooze I use. Hah, I don't know what I'd do if he said yes.

You probably know Sly Stallone had that company make some for him and his buddies a while back.

The Panerai homage I got almost a year ago is still going strong. Changed the band for something nicer and done deal. Does that interest you at all? This place:

Absolutely, vintage Omega's & R olex's are doing well at the moment.
A Panerai is another good investment
 
Waltham vintage pocket watch...

Just polished up my dad's old Waltham pocket watch, not bad for something over 100 years old! Keeps lovely time, a beautiful sweeping second hand, and an intoxicating 'tick'...











 
Decided to order myself a work watch from creation watches.. Made the decision and went for a SNZG15J1.
Have also purchased a zulu nato strap to go with it.. Will post some pictures up when it arrives [emoji6].
