Looks like he's claiming it's a higher quality of steel. But surely Pils patented that exact design?

while i can appreciate it from an engineering point of view, it looks like it'd be a 'mare to use

Pils has NO patent on that or ANY design- much like the Gillette designs are no longer patented and Parker and a host of other companies make their razors.
