Interesting that the FAC blades don't work for you. I read a blog (Eastern Smooth) in which the author wrote about how he used an AC razor for convenience but didn't love it because it was so demanding of technique and very unforgiving. He went back to one of his straights and that put everything into context in being much easier, more relaxed and enjoyable. The consensus of experience is that shavettes are far more demanding and unforgiving which I guess you're finding out for your self.
I've managed a two pass shave with my Sanguine and must say I get a buzz from the 'high wire' element of risk. I have a couple of straights on the way I'm looking to move on to.
