Photo of the day

Some great captivating shots of your good lady Iain.

I have been paging up and down trying to decide which shot I prefer.

I think the colour shot is obviously depicting that beautiful hat and that was where my eyes was immediately drawn to.

The B&W on the other hand I was immediately drawn to the ladies eyes. it looks like she is in a deep thought process to my mind so for that reason alone I think the B&W shines for me.

I also like the way you have captured the rule of 1/3rds guide lines and their intersection points with the subject.

Really clever and thanks for the tag and sharing.

That's how to wear a hat!

Now there's a woman with style! If I may be so bold! More women and men should wear hat's again, she does it so well too!

I shall pass on the compliment - I'm sure she will be delighted. It was a surprise gift from me - she has strongly defined features and I thought she could carry it off - which I think she does charmingly. We both wear hats fairly routinely - my signature is my beloved Chitrali cap - well caps - plural - I have several. I picked up a beautiful Russian Army issue officer's ushanka earlier this year - it's hard to find the real ones. It's astonishingly warm - what I hadn't realised is that all the army issue ones are designed - with the ear flaps down - to fit under a steel helmet. Makes sense I guess. The problem is - if you are used to carrying and using slr cameras - you can't wear hats with a rigid brim - they get in the way - doubly so if there is a flash gun on top. Neatly back on topic at the end there - cheers - I.
