I like this type of photography, thought provoking, it kept me busy for a while just looking at everything in detail, you may look at it differently perhaps, I don't know.P. - interesting question. That's my other half - but the picture wasn't posed or set up - so I suppose spontaneous. My camera was sitting next to me and I took the picture as she was looking away. I liked the shape. She looked back at me when she realised I had done this - the next picture on the roll is her looking directly at me - but I don't think it's as good a picture as this one. Either way - looking at the detritus on the table - that was a generous lunch. Bar Coto - is our second favourite restaurant in Palma. Run by German lesbians - all to the good. I recommend it to you if you are ever there. Yours - I.

I wouldn't say your pictures are shite at all, infact I find your pictures very interesting, maybe we all look at pictures differently and get different things from them. I can look at a picture of a tree and find interest in it, I think it's the way I look at everything in detail so yes pictures are all in the eye of the beholder. I am never critical when I look at a picture, I am not looking at composition or light or subject matter, just what's in front of me in the smallest of detail, how many cigarette butts in the ashtray, is the gas lighter full or half full, is there a lipstick mark on the wine glass, how big is that watch.......I like detail, it is interesting......to me!P. - I'm just happy that you have taken the time to look at the pictures - and apply your critical faculties - so as to interpret them as you see them. We live in a culture awash with images - mostly shite, including my pictures. Still pictures are all in the eye of the beholder? In a real time sense - I don't see anything important in my personal pictures - I just respond to shapes and light when I take them. Any interpretation comes later. Yours - I.

I'm with Paul. A seemingly very simple photo, but it holds the attention. You can't help but wonder what is going on, or what has gone on. Your partner is a stylish woman Iain.

Thank you gentlemen! Rediscovering my old romance with portraiture lately. More to come.
Thank you, glad it did stand out!H. - I would love to see more of your portraits. I'm rapt with the picture of the girl. Enchanting - as P. said -and fascinating in turn. Pin sharp on the eyes and drifting out front and back to further emphasise the expression, lovely muted colour palette. Should you wish to share - what's the story? - yours - I.
Very well done and you never know, you could be the one to find the next up and coming super model. Not bad work if you can get it !Thank you, glad it did stand out!
However, there's no story as such. I have recently been contemplating pursuing a pro career in photography - in case I am completely bored with office work, and going somewhere like Thailand, Vietnam or Bali to just chill and photograph tourists there. So there's an obvious need to build a portrait portfolio - since I've been focused on street and travel stuff for the past several years. And now I just find random pretty girls online and invite for a free photo shoot. Three so far, and a couple more to come.
This one is called Anastasia - she's 15, currently geography major while dreaming of being a fashion designer, and simply loves posing. Trying too hard for the most part (as 15 year old girls do), so I was trying to capture the rare moments when she was more of her young vulnerable self. This was the best picture of the day for me.
