How was the sauce, an unusual combination! :)

I didn't think it was that unusual. :) It worked well, I always add some sweetness to a tomato based sauce to cut the acidity - normally honey or demerera sugar. The mango did the job just as well - a nice fruity touch. The flesh holds its form even after long cooking. A success I think. - I.

No - they are sweet peppers - just a funny shape. I add a pinch of habanero or arbol chilli flakes to pasta sauce - not so much as to make it hot - just picante, as the Spanish would say. - I.

We are veering well off topic. :) - I'll pm you the recipe.
