Morning ol' chaps,

So I decided to treat myself to a new brush, and went with PAA's Solar Flare - love the look, and the reviews on BB have been great. Little did I know - murican QC is now lower worse than that of a generic Chinese brand. Not even talking about Yaqis - those are consistently fantastic.

Just have a look at the abomination that I received!

Anyone has had any experience with this brand before? Contemplating whether to exchange this half-melted disaster, or return completely and just get another Yaqi.

I had a Doppler once upon a time and ... it was assembled fine. That was a Synbad fibre knot, despite whatever they called it. This Solar Flare absolutely appears to be Cashmere synthetic despite their name.

Your choice.

I think an exchange would likely get you one that is not wonky - they do picture a non-wonky one in their sales pictures, so they are capable of making it right (once, at least). Or, you could find a nice cashmere brush elsewhere - sure Yaqi make one or two and you know the quality there. I think I'd be once bitten and always recalling this horror if I merely had it replaced.

What I would say in defence of the PAA brushes is they do feel to be made of denser plastic and so have a better presence in the hand.

Just shoot them an email and ask if they could send you a new one. They'd probably refund postage were they to ask you for this one.

Yaqi and dscosmetic have been a lottery of glue bumps for me and some other people, so I'm not sure their QC is that good (though they might just be setting targets a bit low).

Yaqi Bunny (Cashmere) looks a fun little brush with similar uplifting colours.
Yeah, knot looks similar, if not the same, but handle is not my cuppa. Really love their Moka Express handle tbh, might go with that one if I don't get a good replacement for this little cripple.
