Lovely pen. Thanks for sharing.Reviving my interest in fountain pens, I picked up this little lovely for opening bid the other day ...
It's a little different to my usual choice, which is either Flighter or Black barrel. Never GT.
I have a good number of 45s, 15s, Frontiers, Vectors & Jotters, all of that ilk, so it's nice to have something different.
I'm pretty disciplined as I only have 30 slots in my pen case, so it genuinely has to be one in one out.
Does the Parker Arrow nib resemble the one in the Vector? From my memory, the dimensions were very similar as well.
Very attractive pen. I presume it's a converter filler?
As the captions show, it's a squeeze-type converter, which the company called an "Aerometric" filler. They used a synthetic material called plyglass for the reservoir which lasts superbly even after 50+ years.I'm not sure on the terminology ... it has a metal device with a rubber bladder in the middle.
Third one down.
I hear you @Rufus ...
You've mentioned cigar boxes. I've had a grot about in the loft and found three cigar boxes. I'm now thinking of some stripwood and felt to line them and turn them into pen boxes. More real estate ... more pens
Looking at the depth, I may well double deck them with a pull out shelf or try to work in some clever hinged level. Fun little project.
Yes, the earlier squeeze converters they supplied with the "45" and "75" pens were excellent. Modern converters are seriously cheapened down compared to those. As the captions show, it's a squeeze-type converter, which the company called an "Aerometric" filler. Paul, to line your cigar boxes check out Gary Lehrer's website, http://www.gopens.com/ He sells preformed slotted display trays, which you cut to size to fit. I use them in my pen chest and cigar boxes. I don't know what the delivered cost to the UK would be or if anyone in the UK sells them.
