Name - Oumo Master Touch SHD (Super High Density) Brush, Sea Wood Tumor - 28mm Badger Hair Ace Shaving Brush

Available - AliExpress

Cost £50

Oumo market themselves as a high end brush manufacturer, and their Master Touch series is their top end series of badger brushes. The sea wood tumor is a resin and wood brush with a handle height of 66mm and a loft of around 48mm.

First off, ordering, AliExpress does occasional sales, the 11/11/2020 sale knocked £12ish off the cost of this brush, bringing it down to £50. Ordering anything other than the default knot size is not particularly straightforward, by clicking on the brush you want it will bring up the default knot size of 26mm, you then need to add this to the basket, message the seller with the transaction number and state what knot size you want (ie, i wanted 28mm), they will then send you a customised link to click through to buy. Their messaging response is friendly and replies are very quick. Brushes are made to order.

To the UK it took 23 days from purchase to delivery. The items was marked as a value of £2, and didn't incur any other fees.

First impression, the brush came in a nice presentation box with a cleaning cloth, the wood effect is actually, wood, and has a distinctly different texture to the blue resin which as an attractive sparking "wave" effect through it, this is one attractive brush handle. This brush has an inlaid "coin" logo at the bottom.

Use, first couple of uses had some very minor shedding on first use, to be expected and a little colour run off, again, nothing of note. After 3rd use shedding stopped. The pictures taken are after 12 days of use and the brush is really starting to perform, but perhaps not totally broken in as yet. Good back bone and a very dense knot, this is ideal for face lathering and picks up an impressive lather. The comparison brush is a 28mm Oumo, around 8 months old and I reckon this brush will improve with use, if the comparison brush is anything to go by. One criticism is if you look closely at the side by side comparison picture you can see the hair is unevenly cut, it was noticeable out the box and as the hair splays can still be seen, of course this does not affect use but for a high end brush was slightly disappointing.

Conclusion, a striking handle, a very dense knot and excellent performance, this brush represents fantastic value and performs way above its price point and is highly recommended.
