Original brushes vs. branded

Hi all,

Has anyone owned both an original brush (say a Rooney 1/1) and a branded version (i.e. Trumper's)?

Are the branded brushes exactly the same, with the only difference being the house logo, or do they ask (say, Rooney) to manufacture them to their specs (e.g. different density)?

I think price is the only differential over all.
