Omega Hi-Brush Synthetic or Simpson Trafalgar T3 synthetic fiber?

I saw it in the store. Omega mixed Hi-Brush (imitation badger) and S-Brush (imitation bristle) for around 26 euros.

The bristles are made of PBT fiber and wooden handle. PBT fiber which is a high-quality fiber compared to natural fibers, softer and more durable. I like it and it will be the next brush I buy.

Alternatively, I had considered Simpson Trafalgar T3 synthetic fiber, which costs only a few euros more.
Which fiber do you think is softer?

I’d go for the Trafalgar as it’s got to be better than the S brush boar imitation hairs. I’d had one with just those fibres and it was truly awful. Scratchy, scratchy and rash causing - like plastic burn.

To be honest, I wouldn’t buy either not when you can have the glorious Omega 20102 boar for half the price. The Simpson is a nice looking brush however.

Never mind naysayers as to your choice, stick your neck out and be you.

Agree 100% with the above. I had a trafalgar T3 but as more of a face latherer I moved it on as I found it didn’t splay much and wasn’t that comfortable. Too stiff for me but could be good for bowl latherers and those who just paint on lather. Just my experience which may not be the same as others. YMMV

I usually build my lather in a bowl, so I think a Trafalgar T3 could suit me well.
I contacted the shop to ask about the Omega Hi-Brush, but they told me that it’s currently not available in store.

The last Omega 20102 and 10098 models were available until the end of last summer, and they suggested that I check their other shop in town.
If I’m unable to find either of those two, I’ll go with the Trafalgar T3, as they assured me they still have several of these brushes in stock in their warehouse.
