OCtober 2017

Monday 2nd OCtober 2017

Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Pure Power Charcoal Face Wash and Proraso white
Razor: Gillette 1920 Single Ring Old Type
Blade: NOS Gillette Blue Extra 1963 (#1)
Brush: Vulfix 404
Cream: Taylor of Old Bond Street - Mr Taylor's
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea Soothing Balm

Decided to join OCtober as well. I chose my oldest OC and decided to use an old blade as well. The shave was excellent, I have used NOS stainless blades but never a carbon steel one, the PTFE coating clearly helps to preserve these blades. Very smooth and very sharp.

Razor: iKon 103
Blade: NOS Gillette Blue Extra 1963 (#2)
Brush: Vie Long Horse
Cream: Body Shop Maca Root

The Gillette Blue Extra worked well in iKon 103, I did get two very tiny weepers that never came to anything.

Wednesday 4th OCtober

Groomed Facial scrub
3P Preshave cream
Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap
Semogue 1800 Boar Brush
Muhle OC razor in Bog Wood with a BIC Chrome Platinum Blade
Alum Block and rinse
Arko Classic Cream
Denim Original AS

My first dip into OCtober!
I haven't used this razor for a long long time....In fact I can't even remember the model number. I believe it may be a re badged Fatip as Muhle did not always make their own razors.

Three passes for a great BBS shave with absolutely no issues

Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Pure Power Charcoal Face Wash and Proraso white
Razor: Windrose OC Slant head + Windrose handle
Blade: NOS Gillette Blue Extra 1963 (#3)
Brush: Maseto 30mm finest fan shape
Soap: Wickham Russian Leather
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea Soothing Balm.

First shave with the Windrose OC Slant, for a first shave it did a good job, but I think it may have more potential. The shave was smooth and close but it did take 3 passes and I found by pass 3 that I was actually applying a bit of pressure. The result was fine no irritation, no nicks or weepers despite the added pressure. The handle feels really good, great grip and the sharp looking edges don't feel it, it's a nice weight too.
