November 2020 Acquisitions

Ariana and Evans Cannabliss Santal
Barrister and Mann Bay Rum

I took advantage of Slickboys black friday sale. Both brands seem well regarded in the shaving community. Arrived today. The Cannabliss doesn't smell how I expected it to smell. I certainly won't have the police knocking at my door.
I've not smelt the bay rum yet as there is a seal which I don't want to break until I get to use it.

Of the best ... at the level of R41 and IKON SAVECRAFT TECH .. Let's go mower to the edge ..

Big surprise with this old lady. 1930.

It is a French FAMEX with technology exchange with Germans.

In the first pass it does not seem like much, but the cage head is very curious. As I see it more, it would sing it with an angle totally perpendicular to the face plane. With smaller angles it doesn't sing and it doesn't give me confidence.

Notes for the noise, which really cuts. The comb seems quite protective when shaving. It gives me 90 ° confidence in shaving and without fear to give multiple passes. It also allows me to insist on complicated sites.

The cage comb allows you to accumulate enough excess foam in the middle of a shave.

In two strokes it is super effective, one of the best with which I have shaved. No Nick's, no cuts, but of course, being so effective, it produces some irritation in the complicated places under the neck, I have also given many touch-ups to leave everything in a mirror.

I still do not know how to place it in my shaving plans. Being so effective, I can leave it for the last passes to leave the mirror shaving. I will certainly put it next to the IKON SAVECRAFT TECH.

As it is quite used .. I will put aside the lid and handle, to only use the cage comb.

My idea for next shaves is to use the EASACE cap and handle with the cage comb.

I remember seeing something similar in the Tower of London

Those are really cool! I've never seen one in "person", only on the forums and ebay.

That model in your photo is later.. 1937, so it has more separation.

The handle is made of hard plastic Bakelite type like that of some GILLETTE TECH model.

In the photo the comb or base is with the holes in the lower part as in the photo of my model.

But in the original patent of the later model, the comb or base appears placed in the opposite position.

That can give us to understand that the base or comb are reversible.
