I use Tabac shaving soap in the bowl. I love Tabac.
I first encountered it when I was at a conference in Switzerland around 1985. It was held in a hotel high up in an alpine meadow. The venue could only be reached by funicular railway. The place was called (sounds like) Stooz(?).
in the welcome basket in my room there was a little container - Tabac soap. It is like tortoiseshell (or amber) with gold writing and measures 70 x 60 x 35 mm. The soap wasn't for shaving - for hand or face. I fell in love with the place, the Tabac and a waitress at dinner. I have kept the Tabac box and the remains of the soap as a fond memory.
PS - A pity that the Gold printing has come out grey in these images.
