New Bic CP or just a minor packaging update?

As a rule of thumb sharper blades work well with razors that are mild to medium aggression and that more mild blades can tame an aggressive razor. I admit that I favour less aggressive razors, but do occasionally use an adjustable on a higher setting, and the Bic CP is the one blade that I've found works pretty well with all of my kit. There are lots of other good blades out there but for the money they are hard to beat.

It is true that for many, the combination of a mild razor and a particularly sharp blade represents the best balance. Regarding the BIC Chrome Platinum, however, I remember that in the past, even when using them with fairly gentle razors, the experience wasn't particularly positive, despite already having gained good experience with safety razors. I don't rule out that over the years the blades may have undergone some production changes, but it could simply be a coincidence related to my personal experiences.

I am also intrigued by a discussion I read on Badger & Blade, where some users claim to notice differences between the BIC Chrome Platinum in the yellow pack and those in the orange pack. I had never paid much attention to it: to me, they were always BICs in yellow pack.
However, in light of those observations, should I perhaps deduce that the ones I currently have are the versions identified by some as the orange pack? Some versions of Bic CPs have a lighter colored pack.

I hated the BIC blades in the yellow box but the newer orange packed ones seem fine.

So does that mean the ones with a lighter yellow box must be older? This was discussed in the B&B forum in a thread from 2023

In the space of a week, I’ve shaved at least four times using the same Bic CP and I always achieved a perfect shave without any irritation. These are blades I need to give another thought to. I underestimate them far too much.

In the 10 years since i returned to DE shaving, it has appeared to be the case that QC has improved at many blade manufacturer i think ?

Derbys and BICS were both considered a bit of a lottery back then
 
I have thousands of BIC blades from pre-2017.
I don't believe there's been QC changes as mine are absolutely perfect blade after blade.

What i have noticed is that if my lather is not optimal or my skin is sensitive, these blades really punish me! It feels harsh and i used to think i was getting duds, but then i stopped changing out the dud in order to test the poor quality hypothesis, and as i optimised the lather or if my skin sensitivity received, the same harsh dud blade transformed into a super smooth and efficient one!

Since then, i know not to get lazy with my lather and also sold off many brushes that caused a bit of skin sensitivity.
 
For the record, I’ve now had more than 10 shaves with the same Bic CP blade. it’s only slightly less sharp but it’s still fine. Yesterday I bought some more other packs of Bic CP
