I can lend you a 2013 R41 if you want to give it a try?Never used a 41 but it is on the list. However I do use Ikon B1's which lean towards very aggressive and depends very much which blade. A Feather probably 3 max but a Polsilver or Kai 5 to 6.
I find a gentle bit of hand stropping does add a little to the blade life
That would be great - thanks!I can lend you a 2013 R41 if you want to give it a try?
It's currently on its way to Chris (@Satanfriendly ). If you PM him your address, he can forward it on once he's given it a good run. I'll PM you my address to return it once you've tried it.That would be great - thanks!
Ah ok - so I already have the same head mine is from 2016 - thanks anywayIt's currently on its way to Chris (@Satanfriendly ). If you PM him your address, he can forward it on once he's given it a good run. I'll PM you my address to return it once you've tried it.
How old is your current R41 though as it may be the same head? The 2013 model is the latest version so will be the head you have if you've bought the razor recently. The 2011 model is slightly more aggressive (or so I've read).

What a great guy! This is what makes this community so special. I have both the R41 2011 and 2013 heads and can attest to the 2011 being noticeably more aggressive, if you can believe it.I can lend you a 2013 R41 if you want to give it a try?

I am fond of my R41 but one thing i have notices is that blades only last a couple or three shaves max in it. I suppose the blades are more exposed and have to work harder than in other razors but i just wondered what you guys think and whether you have had similar experiences with the R41 and other 'beasts'.
Maybe a need a different technique - any views?
