melting soap??

I have found a mug I could use for shaving soap but at the moment I only have sticks. I know some people grate theirs down but has anyone tried putting soap in the microwave to soften or melt it to get a nice fit in a mug?

only works with glycerin based soaps, otherwise you HAVE to grate them

It's fine to melt glycerine based soaps such as Mama Bear and Colonel Conk, but other sorts such as Palmolive, Tabac and MFW should be grated then pressed in to a mug or bowl. What soap are you thinking of trying this with?

I believe you can melt glycerin based soaps in the micro but tallow ones are a big no no,anyone correct me if im wrong
