Mattress Topper

Does anyone have any experience with a mattress topper? I am thinking of getting a Down or Feather topper or maybe a Featherbed if it's not the same thing. I don't really have much experience of these, although I slept on one in a hotel recently, but can't recall the chain - maybe Double Tree.

I probably wouldn't go for memory foam - it's too warm and prevents physical activities.

I may have to investigate latex toppers further...

Latex mattress topper, ohh lala what ever you get up to at night is none of my concern but I will tell you about a wool mattress topper I brought from " Devon Duvets" it was truly wonderful and it would regulate your body temperature unlike memory foam toppers which just make you overly hot.
While you are on their website also have a look at their wool pillows, you will love them I'm sure.
I have no affiliation with Devon Duvets but I have brought bedding etc from them in the past. :)
PS I also have one of their wool duvets.... fantastic!

The biggest problem with wool mattress topper, you need to regularly wash them at least every 3 or 6 months, because, wool mattress topper can soak up human sweat and bad bacteria. You need a very large washing machine, it's not recommended for top and front loader normal house or unit type size washing machine.

Wool mattress topper gets too heavy when soak up in water.

QVC Channel do an excellent feather topper topper.
Iv had one for many years.
The wife told me recently they were selling them again after a few months of being out of stock.
I also have another one that i leave in Norway which is made from Bamboo which i like a lot but my wife isn’t so keen on due to the feather being he favourite.

I took mine to the dry cleaners every 6 months or so, job done. As you say, too big for a standard size washer.

Sorry to be late to this, we have a feather and down Mattress topper . It is wonderful, does need a little maintenance though. A good shake out every couple of days and a wash every 2 or three months, ( we use a local laundry for the top section). We got them from Dusk. The topper is in two parts, a thinner top section which goes on top of a thicker lower section, rather like a two season duvet. The good thing with this is that only the top portion needs to go to the laundry, We too stayed in a hotel ( Sea Containers - London) and had an amazing sleep. We had to find the feather mattress toppers once we got home. Hope this helps

Down or feather toppers are nice because they add softness without making you too hot. Memory foam tends to trap heat, so avoiding that makes sense if you move around a lot.

I’ve got a Winstons Beds topper on my natural mattress, and it’s great, the pocket springs and wool layers underneath keep things airy, and the topper just makes it a bit cushier without feeling like you’re sinking in. Latex ones can be a bit firmer, so it really depends on how soft you want it.
