Hi all!

Radio silence from me for a long time. Mainly because wet shaving has settled for me from a hobby into a specific routine. Rex Konsul. MdC soap. Badger brush, GSB blade.

Given that I don’t really use anything else, I’m looking at stocking up on MdC.

Seems it goes for around the £50 mark.

Does anyone know of any stores that run regular price promotions or the occasional discount code that can be used to bring that down a bit? If I’m going to be buying multiple every bit helps.

I wonder why shaving soap is more expensive than bath soap. I use mdc as it has few ingredients, but today had an almost identical shave with pamolive cream, cheap as chips. I think those of us who buy mainly the more expensive soaps think it is a little bit of luxury.

Purportedly because it's aged for 6 to 9 months. A cheaper dupe would be Catie's Bubbles.

I've had the pleasure of the unscented version and shaves have been superb. I do overload my sv brush but this makes for super lather . I know not everyone will want to overload given the cost of the soap, but it seems to bring out the quality.

If your anywhere near South Derbyshire I have an unused jar of the Fougere scent.
It’s in the glass jar which would make it expensive and fragile to post.

If it outperforms my old Cyril R Salter stuff, I’d be pleasantly surprised. A very kind gesture @trainman if it’s aimed at me but I’m just south of Edinburgh so that’s out. Immensely generous though.
