My advice would be to stick with Gillette fusion or Mach 3 and get yourself a razorpit. I swear by mine. Blades last ages, I forget how long.
Cheaper blades always feel dull from new to me.
Am surprised about lack of love for Sensor (Excel). Still think this is the best cartridge in town.
Durka durka durka............ I forgets the next bitI used to love these cartridges, but for whatever reason, I feel that they are using cheaper blades then they used to. and the luby bit just seems like it isnt going to do much lubricating. Not like how I remeber it at all. In fact the last excel blades I used , the luby bits had a tiny bit sticking out (like a small stub, when you break off plastic bits from plaastic frames, sort of airfix models etc) - I just"sensed" (hehe) that sensors are not being made as well as they used to be: more money will be spent on fusion stuff well, rather than legacy cartridges?
Never heard of this, what's it like?Anyone said Gillette Guard yet?
The Gillette Guard is a single blade cartridge razor from India. Can be had cheaply on ebay and it is actually quite good.Never heard of this, what's it like?

The major factories only produce the latest products, so Berlin and Boston only produce Fusion products. The other product lines are moved to other countries such as Poland, Brazil and China.
Do they move the production line? Re-tool the existing one? Or build a new one? They are not deliberately making the older products worse, they are just made in a different environment.
This has happened with most UK made shaving soaps, and even my beloved Toffee Crisp

Not a recommendation, but a question. Has anyone tried the Schick Ultra Plus? I like the look of it and although I don't need a cartridge razor I suppose it can't do any harm to have one around for a quick shave when required.
The Matrix 3 and the Triflexxx really should be axed along with the Magnum M5. The Caliber 3 and 5, GT 5 and 6 and EasyFit3 are great carts. The GT 5 is as good as a Gillette.Try the Aldi "Lacura" own brand 3 blade cartridge razor - it's the Personna Matrix 3 model, as marketed in the USA, from Edgewell.
Great price and very acceptable results.

6 replacement cartridges, same price, cheap as chips.

The Personna Matrix 3 - identical, except for branding.

Asda and Wilko (selected stores only) do a disposable version - maybe others ?
