Thanks.I've contacted Dovo and their website states that they repair for free for all customers in Europe. I hope they will allow an Englander this outstanding service.Also might be worthwhile contacting Merkur. They'll hopefully stand by their product.

Must have been a broken spring as there is usually enough resistance in the knob to prevent accidental movement. At least they have stood by their product.Today I got a phone call from the approved Merkur shop and they will replace my faulty Merkur Progress with a brand new one at no cost to me rather than repair it. Am amazed at the Merkur service . I can't wait until Friday when I can pick up the razor. Very happy customer.
