Lands End to John O'groats Challenge Distance Record

Well done, now the snow has finally melted and the temperatures are in the positive I am hoping to be able to get off the treadmill and back on the road too. It might be worth getting some ideas for another challenge if anyone is up for it.

I have somehow managed to break 5000Km in less than a year. 10 months and 24 days to be more exact. I am absolutely made up. And it all started here with the 1000Km challenge. Does it stop at this point? I doubt it and will just simply carry on, unless someone can dream up a new challenge.

I have a 50 mule charity run in July and hopefully the Trans Pennine (215 miles) around August

Crosby Beach where I started and my weapon of choice, my rare and bike with a history, the Paganini Campagnolo Special from C1985. Ex Team bike for Plum cycles of Ghent.

That's fantastic Chris. I remember when the TSR LEJOG thing started and everyone was putting their names down. I've got 3 bicycles all neglected, I used to cycle everywhere but no time, energy or confidence for it at the moment so fair play to you, it's really got you going.

I know how you feel in many ways. I felt the same. Un-neglect things, find the energy, get that confidence and away you go. Start small and you'll soon find it all grows arms and legs.

I've managed to go from diabetic 2 to not diabetic 2, lost 3.5 stone and reduced my blood pressure by a mile. Oh, and I'm pushing towards 63, so anything is possible.

And do I talk shite? But yeh I shave much better as my skin has improved no end.

Do it for better shaves and to enjoy your metal more

That is a thing of beauty, absolutely love the paint job. The geometry reminds me of my first proper racer with Reynolds 531 tubing, it wasn't campag unfortunately.

Thank you. It's a real head Turner and more folk tend to look at it than the latest expensive and mundane bikes at bike cafes and the likes.

Steep geometry but what to be expected from an 85 team bike. Could do with wider bars as they tend to 'nip' my shoulders.

It's very little Campag at the moment and only the dérailleurs. The chainset is USA from Velo Orange and a thing of beauty and real quality and the brakes Shimano DuraAce.

Ver rarely ride it as like to look after it as very few left on the road. Or not on the road most of the time in my case.

And I haven't stopped this 100k challenge and yesterday went through the 700Km mark.

Broke the 7500Km barrier

Also received my blood test results today and remain in the safe side of the diabetes story. From type 2 to not being type 2 in 2 years and maintaining for a year makes me very happy.

I place a lot on this challenge (which for good reasons I continue) as being a massive contributing factor. So many thanks to @Boab for ever starting this one.

And the 'Walk with Frodo' continues as well
