Kind of unusual Black Beauty

The Toggle came out of Gillette's gimmicks, bells, and whistles dept, didn't sell well, was a total failure for them. Replaters hate them, by design (flaw) the toggle scrapes it's own plating off in use.

The Toggle is a Grail piece, i agree it wont be for everyone but the engineering is a marvel, yes the gold will wear off over years, but who wants to live forever.

I was lucky enough to borrow one from someone on here many many years ago. I liked it but didn't find it any better than the (very good) Fatboy.
The toggle end doesn't seem to quite fit aesthetically for me.

No open combs for example.
Ah, I must take issue with that. Open comb does not equal aggressive. Some are, but that is by design and not due to it being an open comb.
The Yaqi Melon is an example of open comb yet extremely mild.
A friend wanted to try "real shaving", but a bit scared of cutting himself or getting sore, so I lent him a few mild razors to try.
Gillette KCG, Weider, Futur copy, and Yaqi Melon. He chose the Melon.

Yep, the open comb is just a different style of guard, has nothing to do with how user friendly it is. At one time, people were saying they were milder because they left more lather on your face ahead of the blade. The internet is full of bullshit. Just shave. (y)

I can't think of an easier vintage Gillette to start shaving with than a long handle SA. Adjusted to minimal blade exposure takes a good bit of the chance of blood out of the way. Especially when compared to beginning with an aggressive razor that even veterans have to be careful of. No open combs for example.

An OLD type or a Tech are the best for a beginner or a seasoned veteran shaver, efficient and user friendly, nothing to adjust, nothing to think about, just shave.

That gold razor is so nice
It makes me look cheap just kidding.
With my job and pay it would stick out and people would say I have the bucks but that’s not true lol.
I do enjoy shaving I use my R41 most
