Hi all after a few months of trying to perfect resin casting, spending more money than my wife needs to know about On lathes, chucks (god the attachments are expensive) and pressure pots/ compressors etc I have finally started to produce some shaving brushes and have been enjoying it thoroughly!!, I am hoping to make some matching straight razor brush sets as well as I have finally managed to produce some scale blanks out of resin.
I have tried polyester and epoxy resins but they are as almost as delicate as glass, one drop on the bathroom floor and they crack or shatter So have decided to go with alumilite which is bloody expensive(3x more) compared to other resins but does not shatter when coming in unison with a nice bathroom tiled floor!! Cheers Ed.View attachment 38468View attachment 38469View attachment 38470
#2 is on my website at the moment it's £95 as it's a 30mm knot, but I will make some 24mm brushes that will be a bit cheaper and some nice silvertip badger brushes that will be slightly more cheers EdBoth look class but the Red and Black handle is stunning!
Any prices yet?
Yeah true I never thought of it like that!I rather have my cheap brush handle crack than my nice bathroom tiled floor
