Have you found shaving gear/software etc' that works well despite not intended for shaving specifically?

My top of the list:

1. Spice and Wood body splash from M&S used as aftershave. This is usually half the price if the equivalent aftershave but comes in a plastic bottle, however it has far more glycerine in it and smells identical to the ASL

2. Noxzema deep cleansing cream as pre shave. Not the greatest advocacy for pre shave here but this stuff does works well as a beard prep in cases you don't fancy a shower before shave

3. Witch Hazel (any) work well as astringent post shave.

Where do you find the noxzema cream? Is it menthol?

Anyway, I use nappy cream or aqueous cream (or e45 if you don't mind the price) to shave my head! A thin layer of shave cream first and top up with nappy cream (£.99 small pot at savers!).

Noxzema cleanser found on Amazon, cheap as chips.

Brushless shave creams works very well as a pre-shave, I like using normal shaving creams with brush and/or shaving soap, so brushless creams won't be used but I apply it on my face while I am in shower and rinse off as I finish shower, the difference is significant.

And very fine they are in the Flesh too Andy, thanks for mine, I will be trying them out soon.

Very nice. I used to make razor handles out of scrap metal I found lying around on ships including a weird one from some worming gear from a sanitation tank.

Here's my main one though. Started life as a Mexican cereal bowl and has now been given a second life as the best shaving bowl I have used to date. It is so poorly finished the surface works wonders on soaps and creams

A very rare Sunday delivery,
Solid Stainless steel. It needs a clean and buff, Vintage Centrafuge Razor Stand.
Each tube is numbered.
I may line the tubes or add a collar to each tube to give the razor a bit height.
What do you think?
