after a long time of being teetotal this year ive been getting back into having a drink. ive been really enjoying sipping rum and now ive got an itch for the opposite end of the spectrum and fancy trying a peaty malt.
im looking for something under £40 and not too challenging. any suggestions?
Bruichladdich (pretty sure I haven't spelled that right) and Caol Ila are my favourites. Just take a leap.I'm not sure of the Islay peat bombs could be classed as “not too challengingâ€. I'd suggest starting off with Talisker 10, it's peaty but less so than the ones from Islay.
+1 on this one, one of my favourites.Laphroaig 10 - marvellous stuff!
Indeed, or, as was mentioned earlier, for a 'wood smoke/bonfire' Islay, Caol Ila is superb, IMO.For under £40 I think Laphroaig Quarter Cask is the best you can get.
