There’s something “old school” about breaking in a boar… in a good way.
You don't soak a synthetic, they can't absorb water. With time and experience you'll appreciate the scrub of the boar, and feel silly mopping lather on your face with the Yaqi.Oddly enough, this is the exact journey I’ve found myself on.
Initial brush bought was the Proraso and fairly recently bought the Yaqi 24mm synthetic.
The Proraso even after soaking in hot water was pretty scratchy and though I understand the brush is supposed to lift the stubble, I wondered what a synthetic would be like, so bought one - life’s too short.
The Yaqi is a much softer experience, yet it generates a similar amount of lather.
Currently using the Proraso to rub on my preshave cream whilst the Yaqi is soaking.
Comparing the drying times between them, sometimes the Proraso brush isn’t quite dry from the day before when I go to use it, the synthetic one is.
Appreciate your help. The synthetic I’m using to build lather on my chin and face after loading on my soap for twenty seconds or so on the brush. To be honest, I’m experimenting with soap and cream and building lather on the face or in the bowl then working into the face - it’s a big learning experience and thoroughly enjoying it.You don't soak a synthetic, they can't absorb water. That the brush I’m using. That's the one I'm talking about.

Same as this, it's an Omega brush.
