Is this a defect?

This is my T3 after 2 shaves, rinsed and rubbed on towel and hung to dry.

It doesn't like right that's for sure. My brushes are years old and I'm a rough bugger with them and they still look like new.

@Bogeyman - didn't you have a couple of high milers that looked similar you sorted with a dip in boiling water? Arguably it shouldn't look like that after 2 uses though.

Yes, but they return right back to their deformed state unless you comb vigorously after each use.

Give it a bit longer. After drying it on your towel flick your fingers across and when it’s dry do that again. I get the odd synthetic look like that and it soon returns to normal. If it doesn’t send a pic to Simpsons. I doubt you will notice a difference in performance.

Do you mean wet, dry and flick again or just flick?

After drying a brush on a towel just flick your fingers across the top of the brush. It just resets the shape of the hairs. It’s
something most people do instinctively.

Seeing as you asked so nicely.

I don't think I did but it isn't a possibility I've ruled out. I will use Fido's method to restore it and pay attention when I next use it to lather.

It seems strange that just two shaves should cause this. I reckon anyone must be actually destruction testing to cause that level of damage not simply two ordinary latherings. And of course, I don’t believe or suggest in the slightest that’s what happened here. Not on your Nelly!

This. Hold the damp brush in one hand & comb against the knap while rotating brush and they will mostly realign. Repeat after every damned use.

I'll give this a try but I'm not sure I can be asked to do it after every use, we'll see.
