Is it worth having a single Shave of the Day thread? Not limited to specific weeks

To my mind it makes no difference server side. Whether if its one thread or 20 because you will be essentially using the same amount of server space.
There's also nothing stopping anyone starting a weekly or monthly thread also if they don't want to post on the new one.
That said I am sure the mods will step in and respond if it's an issue.
You might want to give the thread title some thought though because it might be around a while.
How does Johnny Bravo's super thread for super ego's sound????

I set it up as a poll to last a week and that ends on Monday.
Now I'm wondering if we want a single long super thread or monthly ones.
Maybe I need another poll!
If course some might want to continue the weekly thread theme so we could end up with a bit of a mess...

go for the single thread.. if I want to look back on a certain shave, I can just find it in a 'my content' search

I wouldn't over think it and worry too much.
Just start the thread tomorrow monthly yearly or hourly it's your baby so entirely up to you and let the room decide on where they post.
Tbh that's all anyone can do.

I think a continuous and unified SOTD stickied would work best.
If sub-genres want an additional thread, say straight-edge, single edge, cartridge and what-not, go for it as well. Maybe those continuous threads that already exist in sub-forms could be moved to SOTD? There's also our annual monthly threads, like Tech June and Fat February which will be a lot easier to see/find without the weekly threads. If there's a thing that happens, like an anniversay thread for a particular razor ... easy have another topic to accompany. If someone is particularly pleased with their thing that day or a theme they're enjoying, they could setup an additional topic that that.
