Invisibobble hair tie

Recently I bought a set of invisibobble hair ties because the seem to be better then regular elastics.
They strech very much and quick. After 2 times wearing them they don't go back to their original form.
Is this normal? Or do I use them in a wrong way?
Are they really better for your hair?

Do they still work?

Yes, but after wearing the first day I have to do 3 turns around my hair. I keep them under the tap running hot water (60° C) and then they are almost normal size (see the picture). Tried boiling water as mentioned in the vid, but that does not make any difference.
If they are really better for my hair I don't know, but they are a lot easier to remove then regular elastics.
